Do you remember our book on Munito, the clever dog who performed magic tricks with his master in the 19th century?
This duo, made up of Castelly d'Orino and Munito, first appeared in Paris in January 1817. At the time, they were performing at the Cour des Fontaines, an atypical venue named... Le Cabinet d’Illusions !
So what could be more logical than to publish a book retracing the incredible story of this unusual dog, using the name of the Cabinet d'Illusions? The same Cabinet d'Illusions that had seen Munito's card tricks over 100 years before? This homage has stuck, and the original, creative side of le Cabinet d’Illusions that makes it what it is today comes in part from an early 19th century performing dog... now you know! 🙂
